Dr. Valentini Konstantinidou

Dr. Valentini Konstantinidou is a nutrigenetics researcher, a registered dietitian-nutritionist in Spain (CAT001746), and the founder of DNANUTRICOACH® and the Food Coaching methodology programs.

She has been a member of the American Society of Nutrition since 2012 (ASN) and she is an accreditated Practitioner Life Coach from the International Authority of Professional Coaching and Mentoring IAPC&M.

In 2015, she founded DNANUTRICOACH®, based in Barcelona, and since then she is accurately translating nutrigenetics knowledge into tangible, everyday recommendations for health promotion and disease prevention. She offers online sessions in English, Spanish, and Greek with people all over the globe who wish to improve their health through non-invasive, preventive ways, such as precise nutrition.

Her studies

Dr. Valentini Konstantinidou began her career at the Technological Educational Institute (T.E.I.) of Athens, Greece. It was there when she obtained her first European internship (2001) under the undergraduate fellowship program Leonardo da Vinci to study the antioxidant benefits of extra virgin olive oil in humans in IMIM, Barcelona, Spain in the prestigious group of Dr. Maria Isabel Covas.

After graduation and her first degree in Food Science and Technology (2002) she obtained the National Greek Fellowship ΙΚΥ for postgraduate studies which brought her back to Barcelona.

She continued her studies with a Master in Biomedical Research (2007) and a Doctorate in Biomedicine (2010) from Pompeu Fabra University (the first Spanish University worldwide). Her latest University degree was in Human Nutrition and Dietetics (2019) from CEU San Pablo University in Madrid which allowed her to register as a healthcare provider-nutritionist-dietitian in Spain.

Dr. Valentini Konstantinidou was born and raised in Athens, Greece. She has always loved writing and reading and from a young age, she has been awarded prizes in national writing competitions. The most prestigious one was her participation, at the age of 16, in the first Greek parliament for teenagers in 1995, after a national writing competition. During the years to follow, her writing activities have been focused on research and scientific articles, university books chapters, and science dissemination for the general public in Greek, English, and Spanish languages.

Her research

Dr. Valentini Konstantinidou’s research focuses on nutritional genomics effects of the Mediterranean diet and extra virgin olive oil consumption in humans.

She has been studying how nutritional habits can prevent complex, chronic diseases such as cardiovascular. She has worked as a postdoctoral researcher in prestigious teams worldwide led by top scientists in the field such as Prof. Dim. Trichopoulos, Prof. Antonia Trichopoulou, Prof. Jose Maria Ordovas, Prof. Maria Isabel Covas etc.

She has been living in Spain since 2006 (Barcelona, Madrid, Reus) and she has published numerous original research in first-quartile, top, international, peer-reviewed journals, chapters in university books, presentations, and invited lectures in congresses and courses around the world.

Her distinctions

In 2012, Dr. Valentini Konstantinidou was pronounced University Lecturer by AQU accreditation authority in Spain. She has been an invited lecturer in nutrigenetics and nutrigenomics since then both in Public and Private Universities. Since 2012, she has also been a member of the American Society of Nutrition (ASN), a member of the Catalan College of Nutrition (CODINUCAT 001746), and, among others, an ambassador of the European Lifestyle Medicine Organization (ELMO).

Believing in continuous education and learning, she has been recently accredited as a Life Coach (2016) by the British International Authority for Professional Coaching & Mentoring.

Her startup, DNANUTRICOACH® was selected to be part of the Barcelona Activa Incubator, for 3 years, where she received all the necessary professional training and help on how to bring science to society in the most profitable way.

Back to Greece

In 2018, Dr. Valentini Konstantinidou and her start-up company DNANUTRICOACH® returned to Greece and were selected by the Athenian Startup Incubator (ΘΕΑ) to receive professional help and impulse to start a Greek branch of the business. At the same time, she was awarded for her idea by the Startup Incubator of the Municipality of Kifissia.

In 2020, she returns to Greece and opens the first Nutrigenetic Center in Athens, offering applied nutrigenetics services to healthcare providers and individuals. She organizes educational seminars and training for healthcare professionals and she keeps lecturing in Universities.

In 2021, she publishes the first greek book for the general public about nutrigenetics. Today, she is a collaborator professor in the Spanish Universities UOC and Tech.
