Panhellenic Conference on Medical Genetics

The Hellenic Society of Medical Genetics (E.I.G.) organized the 1st Panhellenic Conference on Medical Genetics, from Genomic Findings to Bedside Medicine, with International participation, on October 14-16, 2022 . The conference took place in a hybrid format (online and in person) at the School of Medicine, of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens.

The Conference was organized in the context of ongoing Medical education and information for doctors and other health professionals, regarding the latest scientific data in Genetics, continuing the successful conduct of our previous Symposia.

The President, Prof. Eleni Frysira also announced that after many efforts, the new Specialty of Medical Genetics oriented to the everyday life of Medical Science was instituted in Greece.

DNANUTRICOACH® founder, Dr. Valentini Konstantinidou was invited to participate in this first Conference of Medical Genetics and present the field of Nutrigenetics. Her presentation included background information, present reality, the most representative nutrigenetic intervention studies and the state-of-the-art studies that are currently ongoing worldwide.

Dr. Konstantinidou talked about the challenges in the current application of nutrigenetics, the lack of trained healthcare professionals and the solutions that are being tested.
